An Orange Beard

I was checking some potted plants and there they were: Glistening beautifully in the sun. I know, they will munch my dahlia seedlings quicker than one can blink when they’ve hatched. But aren’t these slug eggs beautiful?
Well, they’ve been fed to the birds now. And yes, I do need to pot up that plant…
For a few weeks in winter hazelnuts are wearing tassels. These are waiting until the fog has cleared and they can happily sway in the wind.
There is a pair of hazels in my front garden, “Butler” and “Gunslebert”, which yield descent sized hazelnuts and don’t grow too big. Passers by asked me, what is that plant?
They are not really considered to be ornamentals. Totally underrated.
This hellebore is doing very well in the terracotta pot for 2 years now. Such a beauty.
Snowdrops open their petals, when the sun comes out, and attract early bumblebees, long before spring arrives. These are just ordinary snowdrops, nothing special. Although they are very special to me.
